Turnitin and humanizing AI text: what to review

Understand the academic review context

Turnitin documents updates to its AI writing model and includes AI paraphrasing detection in its capability. Its release notes also discuss false positives. A rewrite cannot guarantee a particular Turnitin result or substitute for your institution’s review process.

Keep your assignment brief, source notes and draft history. If a report is disputed, ask the instructor or reviewer to consider those materials alongside the report. Follow the actual rules on assistance and disclosure for that assignment.

Choose an edit that fits the document

Use Academic style and Polish when an essay needs a language edit. Check that cautious claims, citations and quoted text remain intact. Do not use a rewrite to replace your own analysis or create sources you have not read.

Our editor offers four writing styles and light Polish or deeper Rewrite modes. It checks protected numbers, quotes, links and code before returning a result. Those checks do not prove authorship, verify evidence or measure performance against a detector.

A review checklist before sharing the result

Keep the original draft and compare it with the edit. Check attribution, negation, uncertainty and the relationship between each claim and its evidence. Add your own verified details where needed, and follow the assistance or disclosure rules that apply to the document.

• Keep source notes and version history.
• Treat a detection report as context for review.
• Read the provider’s current guidance rather than relying on a promised pass rate.
