Rewording is more than swapping synonyms

A thesaurus can change individual words while leaving an awkward sentence intact. Useful rewording starts with the thought: what is happening, who is involved and what condition matters? The editor can merge repetitive prose or split a dense sentence so that the thought is easier to follow.

Use the original paragraph as the source. This tool does not research a subject or add missing evidence. If a technical term, name or phrase must stay unchanged, add it to Keep specific words. Quotes, links, numbers and inline code are protected automatically.

Compare before you copy

Review more than whether the text sounds different. A rewrite should keep the relationships and qualifiers that make the statement accurate. Check words such as “may,” “not,” “before” and “after,” along with the facts they qualify.

Use Polish instead of Rewrite when you only need a restrained edit. For essays, choose Academic to keep an appropriate register. For short business messages, Professional may be a better starting point.

Frequently asked questions

Can rewording replace a citation?

No. If an idea comes from a source, rephrasing it does not remove the need for attribution.

Does this summarize the paragraph?

It is instructed to keep every distinct claim. It is a rewrite, not a summarizer or a target-length generator.
